Joseph A. DiBello, 85, of North Grafton

North Grafton – Joseph Alfredo DiBello passed away Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017 after a long illness.

He was born Sept. 23, 1932 in East Boston to Joseph and Josephine DiBello. He was the third of six children and spent his childhood years in Somerville. After graduating from high school, Joe joined the Air Force at 18, proudly serving his country while stationed in the U.K. during the Korean conflict.

After returning home from serving his country, Joe began working at Hewlett Packard in the Shipping Department. He also began taking night courses at Northeastern University where he ultimately received a BS degree in 1975.

He met his wife Trudy in 1962 and they wed in 1964. They settled in Southborough in 1975 where they raised four children. Joe went to work for Raytheon as a shipping supervisor until retiring to Hilton Head South Carolina in 1996.

Joe’s hobbies included playing the xylophone and guitar in a dance band, photography, baking desserts, poker and reading.

Joe leaves behind his devoted wife of 53 years, Trudy M. (Yannario) DiBello of Grafton; daughter Jacqueline DiBello of Aspen, Colo.; son Martin DiBello of North Grafton; and daughter Marcia DiBello of Southborough. His son, Christopher DiBello of Bolton, predeceased him in 2016. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Alex (16), Lilly (16), Marcus (13), and Sam (10). He has one surviving brother, John DiBello of Revere.

There will be a private memorial service for the family.
