Hudson – Julia R. (Shusta) Shumski, 92, of Hudson, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018 at Marlborough Hills Health Center. She was predeceased by her husband, William, in 2011.
Julia was born in Hudson and was a lifelong resident. She attended St. Anne’s Academy and later went on to work as a supervisor for Thomas Taylor and Sons. She enjoyed cooking and caring for her family and her many trips to Cape Cod. Julia was also a member of the St. Michael’s Bowling League.
Julia is survived by her four children, Carol A. Bauld and her husband John of Holliston, Michael W. Shumski of Wareham, Mary Ann Durant and her husband Joseph of Hudson, and Catherine Maslowski and her husband Paul of Boylston. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her son, Charles W. Shumski.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Jan. 5, at 9 a.m., at St. Michael Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery of Hudson. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of TIGHE HAMILTON FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St., Hudson (www.tighehamilton.com).
