Marlborough High student musicians to performing at Central District Senior Festival

Marlborough – Fourteen Marlborough High School students will have the honor of representing the Marlborough Public Schools Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Central District Senior Festival Concert held in Mechanics Hall, Worcester. Students receiving an all-state recommendation will audition for the All-State Festival Saturday, Jan. 20.

On Nov. 18, 34 students auditioned for the 2018 Central District Senior Festival. This festival represents 65 districts where students compete for a spot in the Band, Orchestra, Chorus, or Jazz Ensemble.

“This is a very competitive festival, and the district congratulates these talented and dedicated students on this exceptional accomplishment,” said Jonathan D. Rosenthal, K-12 music supervisor for the Marlborough Public Schools.

Students selected include Kaley Davis, Emily Mague, Eliana Greenstein Himle, Abigail Purches, Nora Tynan, Joseph LaFollette, Timothy Goliger and Noah Ogden in Chorus; Matthew Pearl and Benjamin Simmons in Jazz Ensemble; and Dean Moccaldi, Sophia Chabotte, Thomas Redden and Austin Wise.
