Marlborough – The Marlborough Public Library, 35 W. Main St., will offer a new knitting/crocheting circle as well as a several fun, free upcoming events for kids.

Beginning Thursday, Jan. 18, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., join librarian Danielle for a monthly knitting and crocheting circle. Bring your current project and get a couple rows done while chatting with people who share your love of yarn. Beginners and old hands welcome. Please bring your own materials. The group will meet every third Thursday (except holidays).

No registration is required. For ages 8 and up with a caregiver.

“Mother Goose on the Loose,” for children birth through age 2, will be held Tuesday, Jan. 16, from 10-11 a.m. The interactive lapsit will feature stories, songs, rhymes and movement, as well as time to socialize with other parents, caregivers and children. Older siblings are welcome.

Read and sing along at Toddler Time Friday, Jan. 19, from 10-11 a.m. Ages 2-3 welcome with a caregiver.

For preschoolers, ages 3-6, with a caregiver, the library is offering two programs Wednesday, Jan. 17:  “Preschool Pals” from 10 to 10:45 a.m. and “Storytime Stars” from 1-2 p.m. Both feature story time and crafts.

Two programs for ages 7-11 will be held Thursday, Jan. 18. Participants of “Early Explorers” will explore elements of art, science, music, community awareness and more from 10-11 a.m.; and scientific discoveries abound at “Mad Science” from 4-5 p.m. Registration is required for “Mad Science.”
