Westborborough – With frigid temperatures outdoors in single digits Jan. 6, families enjoyed swimming in the dome-covered pool at Westboro Tennis & Swim Club (WTSC) as part of its 13th annual Health Expo and Open House. During winter, the pool water and air temperature are both kept at 83 degrees.
Over 25 businesses participated including several with healthy food giveaways. MetroWest Medical Center provided cholesterol and glucose screenings. A child identification safety program was offered by Concord Wealth Management. The club conducted youth fitness and pickleball demonstrations.
Meanwhile, children were entertained by magician and balloon animal sculptor Fran Flynn. Kids also got the chance to pet live creatures during a presentation by Animal Adventures. Mingling among the guests of all ages were the Boston Red Sox mascots, Wally the Green Monster and his little sister Tessie. The first 200 attendees received a T-shirt and water bottle emblazoned with the WTSC logo.
