Grafton man killed in Westborough car crash

Westborough – Police Chief Alan Gordon released this statement regarding a fatality that occurred late Monday evening as a result of a motor vehicle accident:.

On 1/15/18, at approximately 11:30 PM, the Westborough Police and Fire Departments responded to a serious motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Otis St. at Fisher St.. The arriving units located a 2008 Honda CRV in the backyard of 78 Fisher St.. The vehicle had extensive front end damage which occurred after the vehicle struck a large pine tree and the operator was trapped inside.

Paramedics attempted to assist the injured driver but he did not survive the crash. He was pronounced deceased by the Paramedics. He was identified as Christian N. Onorato, age 31 of 23 Fay Mountain Dr. Grafton. He was extricated from the vehicle by the Westborough Fire Department and transported by the Medical Examiners Office to Worcester.

The initial investigation by Officer Richard Trainor and Accident Reconstructionist Cliff Luce revealed that speed and failure to stop for a stop sign were contributing factors in the accident.

Westborough Police were assisted in the investigation by members of the CEMLEC accident reconstruction unit.
