Springfield man arrested for alleged bank larceny in Westborough

Westborough – Police Chief Alan Gordon released this statement this morning:

On 1/20/18, at approximately 3:30 PM, the Westborough Police Department received a report from the Citizens Bank which is located inside Stop and Shop at 32 Lyman St. reporting a male subject attempting to fraudulently withdraw money from another person account.

Sgt. Jonathan Kalagher arrived and observed a subject fitting the description walking from the store and entering a Honda Accord bearing NY plates.

Sgt. Kalagher was able to stop the vehicle in the parking lot. The suspect was identified by the teller from the bank as being the person who attempted to receive $4,500 from another person’s account using a fake New Hampshire license. The teller had been previously warned about this person who has done this in other Citizens branches receiving over $100,000 fraudulently.

The suspect was identified as Jamie Ervin, age 47 of 43 Eastern Ave. Springfield. He was taken into custody without incident. He has been charged with Attempted Larceny over and identity theft. He is being held on $2,500 cash bail.

The driver of the vehicle, Albert Paulin, age 31 of 1375 Popham St. New York was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license. He was released on $1,500 cash bail.
