Jackie WhitneyNorthborough – Jackie C. (Watson) Whitney, 86, passed away at home Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018 after a period of declining health. Her husband, Robert W. Whitney, died in 2009.

She leaves her children, Diane Ketrow and her husband Bob of Easton, Pa., Lisa Whitney of Northborough, Scott Whitney of Barre, and Judith Bedrosian of Northborough; six grandchildren; great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Vaughn and Bonnie Jones, both of Virginia; six brothers, Curtis Watson, Chip Watson, Wayne Watson, Randy Watson and Tom Watson; many nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, Ann Marie Brown of Westborough. She was predeceased by brothers, Jerry, Bud and Joe.

Born and raised in Fries, Va., she was the daughter of Raby and Willie Sue (Akers) Watson. Jackie was extremely proud of her Virginia roots and Native American heritage.  Jackie lived in Northborough for 50-plus years.

She worked as a waitress at The White Cliffs in Northborough for 25 years until its closing.

Jackie loved playing scrabble, taking day trips to Hampton Beach and celebrating family birthdays. She lived for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The Whitney family would like to thank the staff of the Lutheran Home, Christopher House, and Summit Elder Care, all in Worcester, for their compassionate care.

Her funeral will be held Saturday, Jan. 27, at 1 p.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough.
