Hudson – John H. Piecewicz, 90, of Hudson, passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018, at Framingham Union Hospital, with his family by his side, after a period of declining health. He is together in heaven with his wife, Jeanne A. (Hester) Piecewicz, who passed away a day after John Monday, Jan. 22, 2018.

John was born in Maynard, the son of the late John J. and Florence M. (Kennedy) Piecewicz. He graduated from Maynard High School and subsequently enlisted in the United States Navy, proudly serving his country in both WWII and the Korean War. Upon his return from service, John moved to Hudson, where he served his community as a firefighter, retiring as the Deputy Chief.

John was one of the founding members of the Local #1713 Hudson Fire Fighters Union. He was also an avid golfer and enjoyed woodworking and boating.

John is survived by his children, Mary M. Piecewicz and her husband Richard Ciambrone of Hudson, John J. Piecewicz of Hudson, and James M. Piecewicz and his wife Lynn of Chelmsford, and two grandchildren, Jessica Feldman and her husband Matt of Framingham and Ashley Piecewicz of Chelmsford. In addition to his wife and parents, John is reunited in heaven with his sister, Helen Hatch.

A period of calling hours will be held together for John and Jeanne Thursday, Jan. 25, from 5-8 p.m., at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St., Hudson. A funeral service will be held the following day Friday, Jan. 26, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home, followed by a procession to Saint Michael Cemetery in Hudson for burial.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donation can be made in John’s name to the Local 1713, Hudson Fire Fighters, 296 Cox St., Hudson, MA 01749.
