Macro Photography program at Assabet Valley Camera ClubRegion – The Assabet Valley Camera Club (AVCC) will present “Macro Photography: How and What to Do” Wednesday, Feb. 7, at 7:30 p.m. at the Hudson Senior Center, 29 Church St. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Macro photography is extreme close-up photography, often of very small subjects such as insects, in which the size of the subject in the finished print or on-screen image appears to be greater than its life size. This presentation will focus on equipment and techniques with consideration given to depth of field and proper lighting. There will be a demonstration to illustrate procedures and subjects along with a presentation of macro images. Participants will be encouraged to develop their creative expression as they explore color, texture and detail through macro/close-up photography.

Bob Ring and Don Toothaker, experienced photographers in the New England area, share their expertise and special skills with others including both beginners and experienced amateurs. Ring is a member of the Photographic Society of America, Professional Photographers of America, Merrimack Valley Camera Club, and Greater Lynn Photographic Association as well as being a Nikon Professional Services photographer. Toothaker is a lecturer, exhibitor, member of the Merrimack Valley Camera Club and a published photographer.
