Shrewsbury  – Twelve local area high school ski teams, including those from Algonquin Regional, Shrewsbury, St. John’s and Westborough, competed at Ski Ward in the third meet of the Central Mass. Ski League season Jan. 26.

Among the boys’ teams, St. John’s placed first with 637 points, Algonquin second with 625 points and Westborough third with 611 points.  St. John’s also holds first place in the overall season standings.

Collin Hicks (St. John’s) finished second overall among the boys and Dylan Connors (Westborough) placed third.  Raymond Dennehy (St. John’s), Max Scerbin (Westborough) and Andrew Michalik (Algonquin) also placed in the top 10.

Among the girls’ teams, Algonquin placed first with 541 points, Shrewsbury second with 475 points and Westborough third with 458 points.  Algonquin also holds first place in the overall season standings among the girls’ teams.

The Algonquin girls’ team had four skiers place in the top 10.  Kaleigh Reynolds took second place, Kaitlyn Desio finished third, Rudy Utzschneider finished fifth and M. Clark took ninth.

The next set of races at Ski Ward is scheduled for Thursday, February 1.
