Ida R. SebringShrewsbury – Ida R. (D’Olimpio) Sebring, 84, of Shrewsbury, passed away Thursday, Feb. 1 2018 in the comfort of her home. Her loving husband, Harold I. Sebring, passed away in 1987.

Ida is survived by her two sons, Stephen H. Sebring of Worcester and David I. Sebring and his wife Robin of West Boylston. She also leaves her former daughter-in-law, Mary Sebring of Shrewsbury. Ida is also survived by her five grandchildren, Andrew Sebring and his wife Jessica, Christopher Sebring, Caitlin Sebring, Cara Colletti, and Jessica TenEyck and her husband Wyatt. Ida also leaves three great-grandchildren, Zoe, Andie, and Sam, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ida’s son, Michael F. Sebring, predeceased her in 2010. She was also predeceased by her two brothers, Americo P. and Daniel M. D’Olimpio, and her sister, Josephine V. Jalboot. She is also predeceased by an infant sibling who died at birth.

Ida was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Mario D. and Raffaela (Sabatini) D’Olimpio. She graduated from Commerce High School. After graduating, Ida worked for many years at Paul Revere Insurance and Unum-Provident before she retired. She was previously a salesperson at the former Jordan Marsh in downtown Worcester.

Ida enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an avid traveler, and had visited many countries with Harold while he was an active duty Master Sergeant in the United States Army. When Ida was not with her family she was enjoying her time with the various clubs and organizations she was a part of. She was a member of Saint Mary’s Church in Shrewsbury, the Shrewsbury Women’s Club, the Red Hat Society, the Daughters of Isabella Knights of Columbus, the Order Sons of Italy Lodge 168, the Mount Carmel Golden Years, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Victor Quaranta Post. She enjoyed day trips, Church trips and club get-togethers with her girlfriends.

The Sebrings would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful people affiliated with Notre Dame Hospice, especially Mishka Long, Maureen and Tatiana King; their care and comfort shown will always be cherished.

Calling hours for Ida will be held Tuesday, Feb. 6, from 8:30-10:15 a.m., in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation S., Worcester, followed by a procession departing the funeral home at 10:40 a.m. for an 11 a.m. Mass at Saint Mary’s Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
