Wendy RotoloShrewsbury – Wendy Jean (Gallant) Rotolo, 64, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully with family gathered around her Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018 after a short battle with CJD.

Wendy was born in Worcester, the eldest daughter of the late Roger Gallant and Marion (Hoffman) Gallant Trotto, both of whom have predeceased her. Raised in Shrewsbury, she graduated from Shrewsbury High School, class of 1971, and then from David Hale Fanning Vocational School in 1973, where she received her diploma as an LPN.

Wendy possessed a lifelong passion for taking care of people.  It takes an extremely special person to do what she did. Wendy has worked for several medical facilities, including Hahnemann hospital and the Washburn Hospice House.

She is survived by the “Love of her life” Steven, with whom she would have been to married for 42 years in April. Also, by her three children, her son Steven Jr and his wife Andrea, her daughter Leanne, and son Brian and his fiancé Kristen; her sisters, Nancy Lapomardo and Gail Noone; and five grandsons, Joey, Sean, Jackson, Braydon, and Tyler. Wendy is also survived by her mother-in-law, Rita Rotolo, who treated her like a daughter, and was predeceased by her father-in-law, Armando Rotolo. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.

In addition to being a much beloved wife, mom, and Grammy, Wendy was a woman of many interests and had a never ending love for her children. She was a dance mom, cheerleading coach and #1 supporter of her children’s education, sports, and activities. She was an avid reader, loved the beach, and was an amazing cook, loved playing Bingo and the occasional trips to the casino. Wendy also loved family gatherings where wonderful stories, laughs, and much love was shared by all. She was kind and generous with her wittiness, heart, and beautiful smile. She will truly be missed and remembered by all who knew her.

Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Tuesday, Feb. 13, from 4-8 p.m., in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.  Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 11 a.m., in the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Shrewsbury.
