Carol A. McAuliffeMarlborough – Carol A. (Geswell) McAuliffe, 79, formerly of Marlborough, died Friday, Feb.16, 2018.

Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Mary Katherine (Davoren) Geswell and the wife of the late Jerome F. McAuliffe, who died in 2013.

A homemaker, Carol had a great love for children, especially her own 13 grandchildren. Whether it was watching their sporting events, enjoying their concerts or other activities, nothing brought her more joy. She loved being near the ocean particularly at Cape Cod either at the family home or the Irish Village, listening to her favorite Irish music. Carol was an avid reader who also loved meeting her dear friends for coffee and conversation.

She is survived by her sons, Craig McAuliffe of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Jerry Jr. and Erica Sherman of Marlborough, Ted and his wife Andrea McAuliffe of Northborough, John P. McAuliffe and his wife Carla of Northborough, Tim McAuliffe and his partner Ed McCauley of Chelmsford, and Michael McAuliffe and his wife Andrea of Worcester; her daughters, Catherine Bilafer and her husband Bobby of Concord, Patricia Bautz and her husband Don of DeLand, Fla., and Jeannie Beaulieu and her husband Jim of Milford; and her grandchildren, Jackie, Jayme and her husband Brandan, Jimmy, Jesse, Jordyn, Andy, T.J., Brianna, Jenn, Shane, Mia, Carli and Alisa. She is also survived by her brother, Edward J. Geswell Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Hanover.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
