Oakham – W. Kent Montgomery, 83, of Oakham, formerly of Westborough, passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 19, 2018 at the St. Mary Health Care Center in Worcester. He was the husband of Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Donald) Montgomery.

Born in Yonkers, N.Y., he was educated in Yonkers and graduated from Riverdale Prep School in New York City. He also graduated from Brown University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a Master’s Degree in Personnel Management.

During the late 1950s he served with the United States Navy attaining the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

Kent was the VP of Human Resources at Memorial Hospital, Worcester and in later years was a human resource consultant with Montgomery Associates prior to his retirement.

In addition to his wife he is survived by four sons, Donald Montgomery and his wife Denise of Harwich, Thomas Montgomery and his wife Kimberly of Bourne, and Douglas Montgomery and Mark Montgomery, both of Oakham; nine grandchildren, Kraig, Katie, Kelly, Karlee, Jessy, Matthew, Casey, Devin; and Troy; and one great-grandchild, Dakota.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 27, at 10:30 a.m., in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery. Calling hours at the David A. Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Monday, Feb. 26, from 4-7 p.m.
