Westborough – Parker N. Uhlman, 81, of Westborough, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Nancy L. (Heckman) Uhlman, to whom he was married for 61 years.
Born in Marlborough, he was the son of the late John and Marjorie (Sheehan) Uhlman. He was educated in Westborough schools and was a 1953 graduate of Westborough High School.
Parker started the Uhlman Excavating Company in 1956 when he purchased his first bulldozer. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was devoted to his family and became well known with many friends and associates in the Westborough area. He was a member of the Congregational Church of Westborough and has been a lifelong resident of Westborough.
Parker is survived by three children, Dennis P. Uhlman and his wife Patty, Brenda L. Malone, and Douglas E. Uhlman and his wife Kathy, all of Westborough; one brother, William Uhlman of Westborough; four grandchildren, Dennis Uhlman and his wife, Stacey, Benjamin Malone, Julianne Uhlman and Jacob Uhlman; two step-grandchildren, Richard Pratt and Krystle Pratt Daniels and her husband David; one great-grandchild, Ruth E. Uhlman; and one step-greatgrandchild, Haley Daniels. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson, Matthew Malone, and two brothers, John and David Uhlman.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to Summit Elder Care and the many home care aides who have provided his care and support over the past 2-½ years and to Christopher House.
His funeral service will be held Monday, Feb. 26, at 10 a.m., in the Congregational Church of Westborough, 57 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Calling hours at the Pickering and Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Sunday, Feb. 25, from 2 2-5 p.m.
