St. John’s Nathan Bangandozou leaps toward the basket while holding off Algonquin’s Seth Krivanec
Westborough – The seventh-seeded Algonquin Regional boys’ basketball team defeated sixth-seeded St. John’s by a score of 82-70 in a MIAA Central Mass. Boys Basketball Division 1 semi-final playoff game. The game was played Sunday, March 4 at WPI.
Algonquin’s Kyle Henderson was the game’s top scorer with 36 points. Brian Duffy scored 17 and Nick Redden added 13 points.
Sean Burke was St. John’s top scorer with 21 points. Robert Duquette contributed 16 points and Steven Bucciaglia scored 10.
Algonquin advances to the division finals and will face top-seeded Franklin Friday, March 9 at 6pm. The game will be played at WPI. St. John’s concludes their season with an overall 15-8 record.
