City seeking nominations for 2018 Marlborough Labor Day Parade grand marshal

126

Marlborough – Mayor Arthur Vigeant announced that the city of Marlborough has begun its annual search to find the 2018 Marlborough Labor Day Parade grand marshal. The city’s Parade Committee has requested community participation to uncover unsung heroes that live and volunteer in Marlborough. Once again, the city is asking for the community’s help to identify these individuals through its parade nomination process.

The grand marshal will be selected based on his or her contributions to the Marlborough community. These volunteer contributions must be made beyond the parameters of their job. Each nominator will be asked to explain in 300 words or less why their nominee would be the perfect 2018 grand marshal. Each nominator may only submit one name for the 2018 Grand Marshal; duplicate submissions for any one nominee will not increase their chance of selection. The electronic nomination form can be found on the Marlborough Labor Day Parade’s website: http://marlboroughlabordayparade.com/about-our-grand-marshal.

Completed forms are due by Friday, May 18. Those that do not have access to a computer can contact Leanne Cordischi, the city’s program coordinator, at 774-463-9517 for a form. Completed hard copy forms can be mailed to: Attn. Labor Day Parade, Marlborough City Hall, 140 Main St., Marlborough, MA 01752. Any submission received after May 18 will not be considered. Each nomination form will be reviewed blindly by a parade subcommittee. The person selected to serve as the 2018 grand marshal must be available to attend the Sept. 3 parade.

Selection will be announced in early summer.
