Marlborough -The Marlborough Public School district announced that the following students were selected to participate in the 2017-2018 All-State Music Concert: Kaley Davis, soprano, chorus; Abigail Purches, alto, chorus; Timothy Goliger, tenor, chorus; Joseph LaFollette, tenor, chorus; Noah Ogden, tenor, chorus; Thomas Redden, percussion, band; and Austin Wise, percussion, band.

These students will perform with 500 of the most talented student musicians from across the state. They represent excellence in achievement and therefore are known as Symphony Hall Scholars. These musicians took center stage at Boston Symphony Hall Saturday, March 3

“These students achieve the status of Symphony Hall Scholar by going through two very rigorous auditions, one at the district level, where over 4,000 students are represented, and then if recommended, they move to the All-State audition, where over 1,000 students compete for the honor of performing at Symphony Hall,” stated Jonathan Rosenthal, supervisor of music for the district.
