Worcester – Johann Sebastian Bach’s 1744 St. Mark Passion, as reconstructed by Robert Koolstra (2017) will be performed by the Trinity Lutheran Choir and Orchestra with soloists on Saturday, March 24 at 7:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 73 Lancaster Street, Worcester.

This performance, to be conducted by Mark Mummert, will be the North American premiere of this reconstruction by Robert Koolstra, which had its world premiere in 2017. Since Bach’s musical manuscript of his St. Mark Passion is lost, those who have reconstructed this parody work have borrowed from other works by Bach to make a good educated guess as to the original manuscript.

All are welcome to attend this free concert. An offering will be received to benefit the Music at Trinity concert series.

Many professional soloists and orchestra members from the wider community are participating.
