Shrewsbury – Gwen D. (Tamarkin) Parsons, 60, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Saturday, March 31, 2018 in her home, surrounded by her loving family, after a spirited battle with breast cancer.
Born March 25, 1958, Gwen was the middle daughter of Stanley and Inge Tamarkin. Growing up in Oceanside, N.Y., Gwen always kept siblings Barbara Hallen and Karen Glass on their toes.
Gwen met Roy Parsons while bartending in Brighton and the two married in 1986. They had three amazing children, Errin, Sean and Bryan.
Gwen was an incredibly strong woman who loved swimming, being active and sunshine. She continued teaching water aerobics classes at the YMCA almost right until she lost her battle.
All are welcome to a celebration of life to be held Saturday, April 7, from 1-5 p.m., at the Scandinavian Athletic Club, 438 Lake St., Shrewsbury.
