Elliott E. LoganShrewsbury – Elliott E. “Sonny” Logan, 90, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, March 31, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He is reunited with his wife of 37 years, Carol (Varg) Logan, who passed in 1994.

Elliott was born in Worcester, the son of Elliott and Ann Logan. He was a lifelong resident of Shrewsbury.

Sonny worked for the Town of Shrewsbury Electrical Department for over 50 years as a knowledgeable and trusted lineman. He semi-retired after 50 dedicated years in 1987 staying on as the wiring inspector. He also proudly served in the Merchant Marines.

Elliott enjoyed the simple things in life, when the children were young he and his wife Carol loved vacationing on Cape Cod at Popponesset Beach. He enjoyed gardening and even built a greenhouse to get a jump start on his vegetables garden, which he always shared with his neighbors and friends.

He was a wonderful neighbor and friend to all who knew him, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was especially close to his neighbor, Charlene, who he loved like a daughter and neighbor Brian, who he enjoyed sharing a splash of wine with. Elliott also loved going to Falmouth and Martha’s Vineyard with close friends Carolann and Mike.

Sonny enjoyed building birdhouses and loved to spend afternoons on his deck feeding the backyard critters, especially Chippy. To Elliott, every day was a nice day, regardless of the weather. He always kept busy puttering around the house, crafting and tinkering with creations to put on display. He loved spending time with his grand-dog, Marley.

A special thank you to his nurses, Giselle, Sharon and Sheila.

He is survived by his loving children, Barbara Gilrein and her husband John of Spencer, Jane Daley and her husband Michael of Worcester, and Laura Logan of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his loving granddaughter whom he adored, Samantha Daley and her husband Daniel of Hawaii, and his brothers, Edward and Gerald Logan. He was the father of the late Susan and Richard Logan, and his brothers, Robert and Donald Logan.
