Hopkinton – Baypath Humane Society urgently needs foster homes for a handful of dogs in need. Fostering involves providing care and a loving temporary home for a dog until they find their forever home. The shelter’s greatest need is for adult only, pet-free foster homes.

Ollie is one of the dogs who would benefit from having a foster home. This sweet yellow lab mix is affectionate and loves to lean in for a little scratch. He’s already house broken and walks fairly well on a leash. This smart boy will gladly sit, give paw, stay, and lay down when asked. Due to musculoskeletal issues, he’ll need a home where he can walk on trails or soft surfaces. He is looking for a foster home without other pets, and with adults who can continue to engage him in further learning – and cuddles on the couch!

“Most of our animals stay with us at the shelter until they’re adopted, but for some dogs, living in the shelter is tough on their health and well being,” said Executive Director Elizabeth Jefferis. “Foster families make a tremendous difference—giving these dogs the right environment to become the very best pet companion.”

Fostering experience isn’t necessary. Baypath’s staff and trainer will help set you and your foster dog up for success. The shelter also covers all of the animal’s medical care costs while the dog is in foster and can provide food and other supplies as needed.
