Marlborough – State Senator Jamie Eldridge (D-Acton) is extending an invitation to local seniors to attend the 38th annual Senior Conference Thursday, April 19, at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School, 215 Fitchburg St., Marlborough, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The conference will feature a variety of services, workshops, food and entertainment.

The annual conference has been a tradition in the Middlesex and Worcester District since 1980 and has been hosted by predecessors of Senator Eldridge, including former Congressman Chet Atkins, former Governor Paul Cellucci, former Senator of Environmental Affairs Robert Durand and former State Senator Pam Resor.

Among those speaking at the event, hosted by Senator Eldridge, are Ernest F. Houle, Assabet superintendent; State Auditor Suzanne Bump; Secretary of State William F. Galvin;  State Treasurer Deborah Goldberg;  State Sen. Michael Barrett;  Representative Kate Hogan;  Assistant Secretary of the Executive Office of Elder Affairs Carole Malone; and Governor’s Councilor Marilyn Devaney.

The interactive workshops will offer a wide scope of topics such as health care, financial planning, fitness activities, nutrition, and independent living, all designed to help seniors maintain healthy, financially secure and independent lifestyles.

The event is free for seniors. It will be hosted by Home Instead Senior Care of Northborough & Natick. For more information and to sign up call Eldridge’s office at 978-460-8564.
