Marlborough- 2018 marks the tenth year that Christopher Heights of Marlborough has been providing a warm and worry-free welcome to older adults who are ready to embrace the lifestyle offered by an assisted living community.

While families of potential residents are drawn to Christopher Heights’ mission to help seniors maintain their independence by providing quality assisted living services in a dignified living environment, they often express financial concerns about the future of their loved one.

“The biggest question is: ‘What happens when mom or dad’s money runs out?’” said Stephanie Nordstrom, Director of Admissions and Marketing. “At Christopher Heights, we work with the resident and family to ensure they can stay by utilizing one of our available financial programs.”

The security of residency, once personal funds are depleted, is one difference that sets Christopher Heights apart from other assisted living communities, added Nordstrom. Family members, reassured by her explanation, will then often ask her when they can move in!

“The idea of having everything taken care of for them, plus the financial security, is very appealing!” Nordstrom noted.

Worry-free pricing was one of the reasons Christopher Heights was the top pick for Kulli Bloom, the community’s new Executive Director, when she was researching assisted living options for her own mother.

“I wanted to make sure my mom wouldn’t have to move again when her funds dwindled,” explained Bloom.

Bloom was also impressed with the genuine sense of caring manifested by all the staff members she encountered at Christopher Heights.

“Most assisted living facilities I visited struck me as being in it for profits, not people – not the case at Christopher Heights!” she remarked. “I love working with such a dedicated team of professionals who are truly excited about meeting the needs of our residents and striving toward excellence every day.”

In  addition to warmly-decorated and comfortable common areas, which provide cozy spots for residents to mingle and make new friends, Christopher Heights offers three styles of individual apartments from which to choose.

Other amenities include three chef-prepared meals a day, weekly housekeeping, flat linen and personal laundry service and up to an hour and a half of personal care daily. The monthly social calendar overflows with activities: exercise, music, crafts, clubs and trips.

When asked what residents and family members seem to like most about the community, Nordstrom responded, “For the families, it is usually peace of mind, convenience, the wonderful staff and attentiveness.”

“Residents love the activities and not having to cook or clean,” she continued. “Or shovel snow, for that matter!”

Christopher Heights of Marlborough, 99 Pleasant Street, is looking forward to celebrating their tenth anniversary this year.
