201

P. Douglas TessierMoosup, Conn. – P. Douglas (Doug) Tessier, 72, of Moosup, Conn., a Marlborough native, passed peacefully at home Saturday, April 14, 2018 after a period of declining health, surrounded by his loving wife of 38 years, Pauline (Simarano), and family.

Born and raised in Marlborough, he was the son of the late Peter and Lorraine (Tremblay) Tessier. Doug attended trade school specializing in machining. Residing in Hudson, he founded and operated Tessier Machine Co. for 20 successful years before retiring in 1997.

He was a member of Hudson-Concord Elks #959 and enjoyed playing golf and cards with his buddies. He frequented the casinos in Connecticut and Las Vegas to play his favorite game, Keno. He also enjoyed early morning flea markets, attending auctions to add to his numerous collections, as well as his love for his four Maltese dog “babies.” He was an avid Boston sports fan cheering for the Celtics, Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins. Doug could strike up a conversation with anyone but his ability to form long lasting friendships was admirable.

Besides his beloved wife, Doug is survived by a son, Douglas Tessier and his wife Lisa of Webster, and four stepchildren, Al Renaud and his wife Tina of Cameron, N.C., Paula O’Brien and her husband Rich of Hudson, and Joseph Morton and Peter Renaud, both of Moosup, Conn. He is also survived by his brother, Paul Tessier and his partner Angela Trobucco of Ashland; his sister, Carol Benson; and his niece, Christy Sue Benson of Florida, as well as 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday, April 22, from 2-5 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, April 23, at 10 a.m., at St. Matthias Church, 409 Hemenway St., Marlborough. Burial will be held at a later date.
