Johanna MelideoHudson – Johanna “Lore” (Rapp) Melideo, 80, of Hudson, passed away peacefully Friday, April 20, 2018 at Marlborough Hospital with her beloved family by her side. She leaves behind her loving husband of almost 56 years, George D. Melideo.

Lore was born in Backnang, Germany on May 21, 1937. She had a challenging childhood growing up and being raised during WWII and post-war times. She eventually immigrated to Marlborough, where she lived with her sister until she met the love of her life, George Melideo. They married in June 1962 and together shared almost 56 years of love and happiness together; settling in Hudson and raising their two children.

Lore was a devoted homemaker, who dedicated her life to caring or her family. She enjoyed arts and crafts, especially knitting and making stained glass art. She also enjoyed baking and decorating cakes.

In addition to her husband, George, she is also survived by her two children, Jeffrey P. Melideo of Hudson and Patricia A. (Melideo) Lurz and her husband Theodore of Shrewsbury; her sister, Karoline Wheeler and her husband Norman of Marlborough; and two grandchildren, Amber and Adam Melideo. Lore was predeceased by her three brothers, Willi, Karlheinz, and Dieter Rapp.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation Saturday, April 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St., Hudson, immediately followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. in the funeral home.

She was being treated for Multiple Myeloma for the past 10 years. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Lore may be made in support of the Mass General Hospital.
