Old Orchard Beach, Maine – William John Jameson of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, passed away after an illness on Feb. 17, 2018 in Portland, Maine.

He was born in Quincy on June 6, 1949 to Mary Josephine (Walsh) Jameson and Kenneth Matthew Jameson of Marshfield, and later moved to Stow, where he was raised from the age of 3.

Billy “Jamie” attended St. Michael’s Parish School in Hudson and Nashoba Regional High School in Bolton, graduating in 1967. Later, he attended school to become an electrician, which became his livelihood.

As an electrician he spent time working in Iran bringing electricity to communities. He was co-owner of Billy-Jack’s Bar in Hudson and loved the people and the communities in which he lived. He was also a champion pool player, and loved a good game.

Much of his adult life he lived in Maine, enjoying his “camp” that he built in Holden where he loved to hunt and fish in his free time.

He leaves a long-time companion, Nancy Gilbert of Old Orchard Beach, Maine; a son, Scott Roberson of Harrison, Maine; a sister, Maureen Jameson of Stow; and a brother, Kenneth Jameson of Yarmouth Port. He also leaves a niece, Erin Jameson of Clinton, and a nephew, Sean Jameson of Woodstock, Conn.

A burial of ashes will take place Saturday, May 5, at 9 a.m., at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Hudson.
