Shrewsbury – Rick Makasian and Jackie Pratt from Shrewsbury Electric and Cable Operations (SELCO) were on hand at the Shrewsbury Public Library April 23 to give away free trees to Shrewsbury residents.
Since this program began in 2007, over 5,000 trees have been given out. This year, there were 300 available and the varieties included the downy serviceberry, Sargent cherry and river birch. Instructions for planting and care of the trees were also distributed
