Shirley A. ForrestMarlborough – Shirley A. (Barber) Forrest, 75, of Marlborough, formerly of Hudson and Sudbury, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Reservoir Center for Health and Rehab in Marlborough, surrounded by her loving family, after a period of declining health. She joins her beloved husband, Raymond W. Forrest, who passed in 2005.

Shirley was born Nov. 11, 1942 in Nashua, N.H., a daughter of the late Clyde and Edith (MchMann) Barber. She was raised in Sudbury, where she graduated from high school. She later moved to Marlborough where she lived for many years and eventually settled in Hudson for 25 years.

Shirley worked as a school bus driver in Marlborough before she eventually retired.

Shirley was a longtime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and AMVETS, both in Marlborough. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed shopping, traveling and canning. Shirley loved animals and through the years had many beloved pets that she cared for. Most of all Shirley loved spending time with her family, who she adored.

Shirley is survived by her two children, Misty A. Viera and her husband Javier of Marlborough and William P. Martel of Randolph; her sister, Betty Gibson and her husband Sidney of Marlborough; two grandchildren, Angelique Rivera and Xavier Viera; and two great-grandchildren, Elisia and Zyana Rivera. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her brother, Lester Barber.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of calling hours Monday, May 7, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St. Hudson, immediately followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 12 p.m. Shirley will be laid to rest with her late husband Raymond in Evergreen Cemetery in Marlborough following completion of services in the funeral home.
