Rose A. RutiglianoShrewsbury – Rose A. (Terlizzi) Rutigliano, 87, of Shrewsbury, died peacefully Tuesday, May 8, 2018 in the Rose Monahan Residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Rose was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Mary (Zamarro) and Michael Terlizzi. Shee was a graduate of Worcester Girls Trade, class of 1947, and worked for the Webster House Restaurant for 12 years and BJ’s for the last 22 years before she retired.

She was a member of St. Anne’s Church in Shrewsbury, where she acted as a Eucharistic Minister. Rose’s biggest enjoyments in life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed bus trips to the casino, and cherished spending time with her many friends.

Rose is survived by her son, Francis Rutigliano and his wife Libby; a daughter, Donna Rutigliano; four grandchildren, Joann LaRochelle, Gina LaRochelle Leycegui and her husband Roberto, Lisa LaRochelle, and Deanna Pavone and her husband Douglas; three great-grandchildren, Olivia Rose, Emilia and Margaret Frances; a sister, Leona Lapomardo; her two dear sisters-in-law, Mickey Terlizzi and Lena Terlizzi; several nieces and nephews; and her many close friends. Her husband, Louis; son Paul; and 10 brothers and sisters predeceased her.

Rose was known for bringing people together and her generosity and kindness to others. She was warm and welcoming to anyone who stepped through her door, and no one would dare leave her home without eating.

The family of Rose would like to thank all those who cared for her from the Jewish Home Hospice who she quickly made part of her family. Brenna, Joan, Emily, we are so thankful for you. Close friends Sister Pat Foley, Geri Cope, and Flo LeClair, we cannot thank you for the comfort you brought to her. To our cousin Lorraine, who was a constant presence, you are a blessing.

Rose’s funeral will be held Saturday, May 12, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester, with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:30 a.m. in the Church of St. Anne, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Rose’s family Friday May 11, from 4-7 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment will be with her husband and son in Mountain View Cemetery.
