Martin F. LoboGrafton – Martin F. Lobo, 77, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018 at home following complications from cancer, surrounded by the family that meant everything to him.

He leaves his wife of 47 years, Mary (Stearns) Lobo; his sons, Michael Lobo and Matthew Lobo and his wife Amber and their daughters Ellie and Adelyn; and his nieces and nephews, Cheryl (Wronski) Bodie and her children Yolanda and Vanessa, Kevin Foote and his wife Mary Beth and their children Erin and Kasey, and Deborah Chamness and her husband James. He was predeceased by his brother, Alban Lobo.

Martin was born Feb. 16, 1941 in Worcester, son of the late Rachel (Crapolicchio) and Albano Lobo, and his roots were in the Belmont Hill neighborhood of the city. He graduated from Commerce High School and earned his Bachelor’s degree from New Hampshire College. He served proudly in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

Martin then worked as an auditor for the General Accounting Office in Boston for more than 35 years before his retirement in 2004.

Martin traveled all over New England; to the west to Springfield and to the seacoasts of Maine, Rhode Island and Cape Cod in addition to trips overseas to the United Kingdom, Ireland or wherever else his wife Mary might have “suggested” they visit. Close to home, he was made happy simply by the presence of his family.

Please honor Martin with a memorial donation to MetroWest HomeCare and Hospice, 200 Nickerson Rd., Suite 110, Marlborough, MA 01752.

All are welcome to gather with Martin’s family Tuesday, May 22, from 4-7 p.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. A prayer service will be offered for Martin Wednesday, May 23, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home. He will then be laid to rest at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
