New selectman welcomed at May 14 meeting

Northborough – There are two new faces on the Board of Selectmen and they were recognized at the board’s meeting May 14. Selectmen Timothy Kaelin and Julianne Hirsch were elected in the May 8 Municipal Election, defeating incumbent William Pantazis. Former Selectman Jeff Amberson did not seek reelection.

Chair Jason Perreault welcomed the two new board members and, later in the meeting, the two former selectmen were thanked for their dedication to the town.

“I’d like to congratulate Julianna and Tim on their campaigns and winning a seat on the board,” Perreault said. “You’ll enjoy it very much a lot of interesting things come before us. Welcome.”

“I also want to thank Bill and Jeff, too,” he added. “They served for many, many years and were very dedicated to the town of Northborough, and they spoke their minds and made everyone well aware of their opinions. I think that’s important and that’s what this board is for…”

Town Clerk Andrew Dowd was on hand to conduct the election of officers Rand was elected chair, Perreault was elected vice-chair, and Rutan was elected clerk.
