Shrewsbury/Worcester -The City of Worcester Department of Inspectional Services Housing and Health Inspections Division in conjunction with both the City of Worcester Division of Public Health and the Town of Shrewsbury Board of Health have lifted the public health advisory, previously enacted for avoiding contact with water at Lake Quinsigamond due to the potential of high bacterial levels. A blocked sewer line on Ancona Road affected 40 homes and caused a minimal overflow into the lake. The bacteria testing received confirms that water in Lake Quinsigamond meets the standards for swimming and boating and is no longer a threat to the public health.
