Suzanne LoureiroChandler, Ariz. – Suzanne Marie (Dion) Loureiro, 72, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 23, 2018, surrounded by her loving family, after a difficult and courageous 18-month battle with ALS.

Born and raised in Marlborough, Suzanne married Jerrold Loureiro of Hudson in 1965. They had two daughters, Lisa Marie and Lori Ann. The family moved from Hudson to Chandler, Ariz. in 1975.

After a career in accounting, she retired in 2012. She and her husband Jerry enjoyed traveling by motorhome during three cross country trips visiting family and friends and enjoying many beaches along the East Coast and Gulf of Mexico. They spent more than a year on the road during the trips and only stopped because of her illness.

She was very active and fit during her retirement, attending exercise and yoga classes twice weekly whenever she was home in Chandler. She was a talented artist and enjoyed meeting people and spending time with friends everywhere she visited (especially while lying on the beach.)

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Mary (Misener) Dion, and her sister, Mary Cole. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Jerry; daughters Lisa Salyers and Lori Loureiro; grandchildren David Salyers and Cheyanna Simmons; and siblings Nelson Dion (Sharon Paton), Claudette Dion, Cheryl Simmons, and Michelle Lariviere (Marty), as well as a large extended family.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, May 31, from 5-7 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 1, at 9 a.m., at St. Michael’s Church, 20 High St., Hudson. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Cox Street, Hudson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Association, Arizona Chapter, 360 E. Coronado Rd., #140, Phoenix, AZ 85004.
