William E. BroadbentGrafton – William E. Broadbent, 70, passed away at home Friday, May 25, 2018 after a long illness.

Bill leaves his wife of 40 years, Paula (Langone) Broadbent; his children, Sandy Broadbent of Montclair, N.J., Kelly, wife of Doug Wedge of Shrewsbury, Timothy Broadbent of Hubbardston, Jessie, wife of Ken Munroe of Hudson, Stacy Broadbent of Grafton, and Thomas Broadbent of Marlborough; his five beloved grandchildren; his brothers Richard Broadbent of Millbury and Robert Broadbent of Webster; twin sisters, Louise, wife of Walter Murray of Paxton and Elizabeth, wife of James Laird of North Brookfield; and nieces and nephews.

Bill was born Oct. 10, 1947 in Worcester, the son of Stanley V. and Levina M. (Savage) Broadbent. He is a thirteenth generation descendent of George Soule, passenger of the Mayflower. Bill was a graduate of South High School. He was a member of St. Philip Church.

Bill was an independent business man in the automotive retail and repair industry. He was a member of the Massachusetts Automotive Dealers Association.

All are invited to gather with Bill’s family Thursday, May 31, from 4-7 p.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. His funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 1, at 11 a.m., at St. Philip’s Church, 12 West St., Grafton. He will then be laid to rest at St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester.
