Raymond R. GiumentaroShrewsbury – Raymond R. “Ray” Giumentaro, 84, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Sunday, May 27, 2018.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joanne (Cellucci) Giumentaro of Shrewsbury, father of Raymond S. Giumentaro and his wife Anne of Dudley and Joseph A. Giumentaro and his wife Kathi of Worcester. Brother of Gigi and his wife Norma and Norma Blanchard. Grandfather of Anthony and his partner Shari, Adrian and his partner Samantha, Emily Worthing and her husband Andrew, Juliana Giumentaro, and great grandson Jaidev Giumentaro, his best buddy Dominic Ruggiere, as well as many extended family.

Ray was born in Worcester, son of Joseph and Marie (D’Amato) Giumentaro of Worcester, and was a lifelong resident of Shrewsbury. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Air Force.

He was a truck driver for over 30 years with International Paper (Carter Rice). In addition, Ray was a professional baseball umpire for 16 years. He was an avid Boston sports fan, and loved all his family more than anything.

A graveside service will be held at a future date at the Mountain View Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Christine and the staff at Beaumont for their care during Ray’s stay.
