Local events in June for Mass. Clean Energy

Northborough – Northborough will hold three events in June to move Massachusetts forward, green the economy, and lead the nation in the transition to renewably-powered electricity, transport, and buildings.   Sierra Club’s Deb Pasternak will give a presentation Monday, June 11, at 7 p.m. at the First Parish Church Hall, 40 Church St. Pasternak will give an update on the legislative progress and need for public advocacy of energy and environmental justice bills pending in the state legislature, including An Act to Promote a Clean Energy Future S.2302 and corresponding House bills.

The Soular Jazz Fest will be held Saturday, June 16, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at First Parish Church Hall. The festival brings innovations in clean energy to the public in a jazz festival setting. Listen to fantastic bands, discover what clean energy has to offer, enjoy great food in a family friendly environment, featuring music by The Gringo Kings, Fabiola Mendez Trio, Dan Gabel, Worcester Youth Jazz Ensemble, Algonquin High School Jazz, and Newton South Combo.

The screening of “Bag it! Is your life too plastic?” will be held Thursday, June 21, at 7 p.m. at the Northborough Public Library, 34 Main St. Executive Producer Judith Kohin will speak about the film and its impact on municipal single-use plastic bag bans.

All events are free and open to the public.
