Marlborough – The Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce recently awarded scholarships to five recent high school graduates from the area at a recent Networking After Hours event hosted by Talia Apartments in Marlborough. The five recipients are Bradford Connor and Michael Cuddy, both from Hudson High School; Igor DeMoraes and Julia Lambert, both from Marlborough High School; and William Soto, from Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School.
Hologic, Inc., also used the evening to take the opportunity to award two scholarships in honor of Giselle Rodriguez, a former Hologic employee, to two recent graduates from Marlborough High School: Lorena Farias and Shannon Francolini. The Hologic scholarships were presented by Anne Liddy, vice president, assistant general counsel, who explained that Rodriguez was a young paralegal who passed away nine years ago while only 23 years old. Each year the employees donate to the scholarship fund and hold fundraisers while they seek applicants who embody the drive, enthusiasm, commitment and potential that Rodriguez showed, and who can demonstrate financial need to further their post-secondary education. The Rodriguez family comes to the presentation each year, making it a special night for Liddy and the rest of the Hologic Scholarship Committee.
