Shrewsbury – Growing up in Shrewsbury, Corey Abbascia was a frequent customer at the iconic store Spag’s, where he often enjoyed a hot dog from the cart that was located outside the entrance.
Now he is continuing that legacy with his own hot dog cart, Lakeway Hot Dogs, which is located at 16 Harrington Ave., in the Lakeway Commons, not far from the site of the former Spag’s. Since starting his business in 2015, quite a few customers have mentioned, Abbascia said, how his cart (which also serves hamburgers) reminds them of Spag’s cart.
