Statia K. CadrinGrafton – Statia K. (Podsiadlo) Cadrin, 97, passed away peacefully at home July 20, 2018.

She is survived by her son, Henry J. Surault Jr., stepson Donald J Cadrin and his wife Patti, and stepdaughter Jeanine I. Byrum, all of South Grafton; stepdaughter Paulette Gemma and her husband Jay of Palm Coast, Fla.; her grandchildren, Holly Stien and her husband Jaison of North Carolina and Faith Sarault of Connecticut; her stepgrandchildren, Jennifer Couture and her husband Steve of Sutton, Lisa Freeman and her husband Doug of Douglas, and Julie Gemma of Auburn; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Helen Klocek, Genevieve Graham, Vicky Cardin, and Celia Lucek, and brothers, Francis, Henry and Walter Podsiadlo, along with her first husband, Henry J. Sarault, and former husband, John B. Cadrin.

Statia was born May 5, 1921 in Grafton, daughter of the late Anna (Wojnar) and Joseph Podsiadlo.

She owned and operated Sarault’s Market on Main Street in South Grafton with her husband Henry. She briefly worked at BayState Abrasives in Westborough prior to her retirement.

She and her husband John loved to sail on Naragansett Bay in their boat “The Money Tree,” and she also enjoyed many cruises and trips across the world. She was a staunch supporter of her son Hank’s football career throughout high school and college and never missed a game at home or away.

She’ll be remembered as a devoted mother, stepmother, and grandmother.

A prayer service will be held for Statia Saturday, July 28, at 10 a.m., at Fairview Cemetery, 380 Providence Rd., South Grafton. There are no calling hours.
