Grafton – The Grafton Police will host their thirteenth annual National Night Out Block Party at their headquarters on Tuesday, Aug. 7, from 5-8 p.m. Throughout the event, police will be educating citizens on their work and basic community safety.

“Please stop by…to meet members of the police department and other Town officials to discuss crime and other issues so we can make our neighborhoods, our streets and ourselves a little bit safer,” the police wrote on their Facebook page.

Among the attractions at the event will be demonstrations from a K-9 unit and a SWAT unit’s armored vehicle. There will also be a Jurassic soft slide, face painting, roving magician, games and prizes for children and adults.

Citizens can see police motorcycles, cruisers, seized drug paraphernalia and fire department vehicles as well as special guests and superhero appearances.

Police will be distributing information on drug awareness, internet safety, bullying, stranger danger, crime prevention, identity theft, fraud, personal safety, health, fire prevention, gun safety and more.

Attendees can also pick up free child bicycle helmets and gun locks as well as Mason’s Child ID Program (CHIP) kits available to parents and caregivers.

Finally, the event will feature music, games and prizes from the WAAF (107.3 FM) Street Team and free pizza, hot dogs, Table Talk Pies, Dunkin Donuts smoothies and other refreshments.

“Let’s all get together to give drugs & crime a going away party,” the police wrote.
