Annual boat parade to be held on Lake Quinsigamond

Shrewsbury – The Lake Quinsigamond Watershed Association (LQWA) will be hosting its annual boat parade on Saturday, Sept. 8 as part of “Celebrate Lake Quinsigamond Day.”

Theme for participants to decorate their boats will be “Any Holiday.” The parade will start at 2 p.m.  To register for free for the parade visit  http://www.lquinsig.eventbrite.com.

Prior to the parade, there will be an Antique Boat Show from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with rides being offered. Free beach yoga will be held at 11 a.m. Food, including a pizza truck and Minute Man Popcorn, as well as beer, wine, soda and lemonade, will be sold from 12-6 p.m.

The Shrewsbury Fire Dept. will be demonstrating hovercraft and the Worcester Mounted Police will be on site. There will also be crafts and beach games for kids.

The event will be held at Regatta Point Community Sailing/ Quinsigamond State Park, Worcester (across from UMASS Memorial University campus).
