Region – The Golden Tones Chorus for retired folks launches its 30th season at the Natick Stop & Shop, 829 Worcester Street (Routes 9 & 27), Saturday, Sept. 1, at 12:30 p.m. It’s a free sing-along concert with a side of sizzlin’ burgers and dogs. Through the generosity of Natick Stop & Shop, proceeds from Saturday’s barbecue will benefit the chorus’ continuing musical outreach program of almost 50 uplifting concerts each year, many to underserved audiences.
If you love music and enjoy singing and dancing to pop classics and show tunes for a variety of audiences, come to Golden Tones chorus’ first open rehearsal Tuesday, Sept. 4, from 10 a.m. to noon at a special Election Day location, Carriage House, 134 Boston Post Road (Route 20), Wayland. On most Tuesdays, the chorus meets at the Wayland Senior Center, 41 Cochituate Road. There are no auditions and no attendance requirements. On Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 9:30 a.m. there will be a Welcome Coffee, featuring refreshments courtesy of the Council on Aging and bakers from the chorus.
