Grafton – Janet Marie (Dauphinais) Charest, 83, passed peacefully with her family by her side Aug. 29, 2018 after a brief illness. Janet was married 55 years to Leo Charest, who passed in 2009.
She was born Nov. 23, 1934 to Alfred J. and Alexina (Lavallee) Dauphinais, and was educated in the Worcester Catholic school system, graduating in 1952.
She leaves behind four children, Stephen Charest and his wife Donna of Grafton, Annette Mangaudis and her husband Robert of Andover, Minn., David Charest and his wife Diane of Northbridge, and Gisele Cote and her partner Raymond Moloney of Millville. She will be lovingly remembered by her nine grandchildren, Daniel, Jason, Amanda, Elizabeth, Patricia, Robert, Kayla, Lindsay, and Matthew, along with their spouses. She was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.. She is survived by her sister, Doris Beauregard, and she was predeceased by her brothers, Emile, Armand, Albert and Roger Dauphinais.
She dedicated years of her life as a volunteer in the Grafton schools and at her church, St. Mary’s Parish in North Grafton. Her enjoyment in life came from gardening, cooking, and spending time with her entire family.

Please join Janet’s family to celebrate her life at calling hours Monday, Sept. 3, from 4-7 p.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Sept. 4, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary’s Church, 17 Waterville St., North Grafton. She will then be laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery in North Grafton.
