Algonquin football kicks off season with convincing win over Worcester North

Northborough  – The Algonquin Regional High School Tomahawks kicked off their season with a 32-0 win over the Worcester North High School Polar Bears Sept. 7 in Northborough.

Will Johnston scored two touchdowns for Algonquin, with runs of 30 and 35 yards.  Rio Ferguson and Jack Branson rushed for touchdowns as well.  Quarterback Brandan Hermanspan ran for three 2-point conversions and threw for a fourth to round out the scoring.

Algonquin travels to Marlborough next week to take on the Panthers.  The game is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m.
