Barbara A LegasseyNorth Grafton – Barbara A (Mackenzie) Legassey, 81, a longtime resident of North Grafton, died peacefully Sept. 5, 2018 in Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center of Northbridge. Her beloved husband, Edward J. Legassey, passed away Dec. 5, 1991.

Barbara was born in Worcester, daughter of George B. and Ruth E. (DeFosse) Mackennzie. She was a graduate of Shrewsbury High School and earned her accounting degree from New England School of Accounting.

Barbara worked as a bookkeeper for several companies including Moore Survey & Mapping, Riley Stoker Corporation and retired from Worcester Manufacturing, Inc.

Barbara leaves her good friend, Kathleen Kelley, and was predeceased by her brother, Bruce G. Mackenzie.

Barbara was a member of St. Anne’s Parish in Shrewsbury, where she was both a Eucharistic minister and lector. She was a past president of St. Anne’s Women’s League and was a member of the churches choir.

Friends are invited to Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., Worcester, Friday, Sept. 14, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Tpke., Shrewsbury. Barbara will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband in Pine Grove Cemetery of North Grafton.
