Public invited to presentation on Ballot Question 2

56

Region – The public is invited to an educational presentation about Question 2 on November’s ballot Thursday, Sept. 27, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Harvard Cultural Collaborative, 7 Fairbank St., Harvard.

Question 2 calls for a Citizens Commission to advance a 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution for limits on campaign spending and corporate rights. The slide-show presentation will cover topics including recent Supreme Court decisions and their effects on democracy, why a democracy amendment to the U.S. Constitution is being sought, and how people’s movements have won existing constitutional amendments, such as voting rights for African Americans, women, and 18-year-olds. Additional resources will also be available for citizens who want to improve democracy.

The event is free of charge. Street parking is available, including along Massachusetts Avenue, south of Route 110. Light refreshments will be served.

This presentation is sponsored by We The People Massachusetts, a non-partisan, all-volunteer network of citizens. For more information about the presentation, email
