Bernice I. LaFlammeShrewsbury – Bernice I. (Landry) LaFlamme, of Shrewsbury, died Oct. 5, 2018 in Notre Dame Long Term Care after a period of declining health.

Bernice was born in Chelsea, daughter of the late Jeffrey A. and Mary Rose (Callahan) Landry. She graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester in 1942, and on June 17, 1942 she married the love of her life, Andrew LaFlamme, who would later become a Fire Chief in the Town of Shrewsbury. They were married for 53 years at the time of his death in 1998.

Bernice had worked briefly at Kranska Thread Company in Worcester as a bobbin winder, but much preferred being home taking care of her husband, family and home. She was a faithful member of Saint Anne’s Parish in Shrewsbury.

Bernice leaves behind her children, Andrew LaFlamme Jr. and his wife Jane, Gerald LaFlamme and his wife Irene, and Maria Camerano and her partner Alan Higgins. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and a brother, Paul Landry. Besides her husband and parents, Bernice was predeceased by brothers Alfred, William and Herbert Landry and sisters Mary McGee and Anna Agnetti.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 10 a.m., in Saint Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Tpke., Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery of Shrewsbury. There are no calling hours.
