Shrewsbury – The Shrewsbury High School Colonials football team defeated the Algonquin Regional High School Tomahawks by a score of 40-13 Oct. 12. This was the Colonials first game at the beautiful, new David J. Adams Field at Central One Federal Credit Union Stadium.

Algonquin scored early on a touchdown run by Jack Branson, after capitalizing on a Shrewsbury fumble during their first drive.  Shrewsbury responded with 40 unanswered points, including three touchdowns by senior John White. Kealan Green, Drew Campanale and Tucker Montague also scored touchdowns in the game.

Sam Crain caught a 37-yard pass from Brandan Hermanspan in the closing seconds of the game for Algonquin.

Shrewsbury, now 5-1 on the season, will host Westborough next week, while Algonquin, now 1-5 will take on a tough St. John’s team.
